Does Spectr integrate with SolidWorks?
Yes. Spectr includes SolidWorks among the design tools it can import from, then tracks each unique product through fabrication, shipping, and install. A SolidWorks BOM is still a design structure — the shop needs project allocation and ship status on top.
Key facts
- Spectr’s public design page names SolidWorks with AutoCAD and Rhino.
- Unique architectural parts should not become thousands of dead SKUs.
- Configurations are how shops accidentally fabricate last week’s part.
- Spectr does not replace SolidWorks modeling.
How shops handle this
- Decide which configuration is issued
Then import that. - Generate Spectr products
Do not paste the table into Excel “to make it usable.” - Map bought-outs
Hardware needs the same project home as the panel. - Issue when purchasing can trust it
A conversation is not a PO.
Common questions
Our weldments already have cut lists.
Keep them as engineering output. The ERP still owns cut, pack, and ship status.
Can we skip import?
You can type. You will pay for it in typos.
