Integrations
Does Spectr replace accounting?
No. Spectr does not replace accounting. It is the operational backbone for unique products, shop, crates, and install, and it is built to integrate with Sage, Jonas, Fleming, and similar ledgers so you are not choosing between a working close and a working floor.
Key facts
- Payroll, tax, and the audit trail stay in the accounting system.
- Spectr’s public comparisons say keep finance if it works.
- Dual BOMs — one in Sage items, one in Excel — is the failure mode.
- Cloud-hosted operations plus a stable GL is a common, sane pattern.
How shops handle this
- Leave close where it is clean
Do not start an ERP war with the controller. - Move the product record
The panel ID should live where the shop and field work. - Sync costs, do not clone catalogs
Invoices can flow. Unique panels should not become Sage SKUs. - Revisit after a shipped elevation
Decide from a real job.
Common questions
We already bought NetSuite or Dynamics for finance.
Sunk cost is not a process. Unused manufacturing modules are common.
Will we enter AP twice?
Not if you agree who receives and what posts. That is an implementation question, not a slogan.
