Implementation & buying

Is Spectr only for large fabricators?

No. Spectr is aimed at shops that have outgrown spreadsheets and disconnected tools — typically when more than a handful of people need the same live picture. Cloud-hosted delivery is how that can fit an SMB without a dedicated ERP department.

Key facts

  • ERP used to mean only big companies. The leftover problem is buying the wrong kind.
  • If three people already disagree about inventory and ship dates, you have crossed the line.
  • Enterprise platforms still punish one-off panels regardless of your headcount.
  • Implementation in months is part of the SMB fit.

How shops handle this

  1. Count systems that hold quantity
If the number is greater than one, size is not the issue.
  2. Walk one crate story
If that story is already painful, you are not “too small.”
  3. Keep accounting
Do not wait on a finance transformation.
  4. Pilot one project
Decide from a missing panel, not a logo.

Common questions

We are ten people.

If you hang panels and rebuild BOMs in Excel, the fit is process, not headcount.

Will we lose flexibility?

A good ETO system is flexible about unique products. It is strict about one version of the truth.
