Implementation & buying
Is Spectr cloud-hosted?
Yes. Spectr is cloud-hosted: no on-prem server farm as a prerequisite, and updates do not require a weekend IT project to stay current. The shop and the field use the same system — which is the point of not stopping at the loading dock.
Key facts
- Modern cloud ERPs can fit SMBs. The fit still depends on manufacturing model.
- Cloud delivery does not fix a make-to-stock data model — that is why generic cloud suites still fail here.
- Field scanning needs a system the office can see without a VPN ritual.
- Reliability and access control remain first-class even though the product is narrower than SAP.
How shops handle this
- Ask about users, not servers
Who needs a login on the floor and on site. - Ask about poor signal
Capture-and-sync is an implementation detail. Do not invent a paper process that never comes back. - Keep your CAD and accounting
Cloud Spectr is the operations layer. - Judge from a live project
Not from a hosting slide.
Common questions
Do we need our own IT department?
You need an owner for process and users. You should not need to host the application.
Is cloud less “enterprise”?
It is how the product is delivered. Facade depth is the differentiator, not a server room.
