Do I need an IT team to run Spectr?

You do not need a server team. Spectr is cloud-hosted: no servers to maintain, no IT infrastructure to manage, updates are automatic. You still need a named internal owner for how the shop scans and how accounting syncs.

Key facts

  • Public site: cloud-hosted, automatic updates.
  • Role-based access and backups are part of the security story.
  • Onboarding assistance is part of the support pitch.
  • A shop lead who cares about scans beats an IT ticket queue that does not understand crates.

How shops handle this

  1. Name an operational owner
PM or shop lead, not “everyone.”
  2. Keep existing IT for laptops and Wi-Fi
Cloud ERP does not fix a dead access point at the saw.
  3. Use Spectr support for product questions
That is what onboarding is for.
  4. Do not wait to hire a full-time sysadmin
    That is an enterprise-ERP habit.

Common questions

What about permissions?

Role-based access is advertised. Bring your requirements to onboarding.

Can we host it ourselves?

The public product is cloud-hosted. That is the point.
