How to see freight and finishing on job cost

Finishing and freight are often the silent killers on a facade job. Spectr’s services calendar and shipping lists exist so those costs sit next to production — not in a side email thread the controller never sees.

Key facts

Anodize lead time is a schedule problem and a cash problem.
A second truck because the first crate was wrong is a process cost, not “shipping.”
Spectr generates logistics documents from the live list so contents and cost share a record.
Accounting can still post the vendor invoice. The job needs the operational hook first.

How shops handle this

Create the finish task when you know the spec
Do not wait until the rack is on the truck to the coater.
Receive finished goods to the job
A pile in receiving is not allocated.
Record the extra shipment
If it left, it belongs on the project list.
Review both with the PM
Finish and freight should not be a surprise at closeout.
