How to track facade installation progress

Installation progress should be product status rolling from shipped to installed as crews scan, plus photos tied to those products. Spectr’s mobile app puts field crews on the same system as the office so progress is real-time, not three days late.

Key facts

  • Most ERPs consider the product done at ship. Facade work is not.
  • Percent-complete from a foreman’s memory is how billing and scheduling lie.
  • Spectr’s field story includes scan, install tracking, and photo capture.
  • The office should see hung vs staged without calling the swing stage.

How shops handle this

  1. Ship with scannable crates
Progress cannot start from an unknown pile.
  2. Scan as you hang
Or scan a zone if you must — but record products, not vibes.
  3. Upload photos on the product
A photo in a group chat is not as-built.
  4. Let PMs read the status
If they still ask “how far along,” the field is not using the app.

Common questions

What if there is no signal on site?

Capture and sync when you can. Do not invent a paper process that never comes back.

Union or third-party installers?

Someone still has to scan. If they will not, you are buying a clipboard again.
